Jeff Goldblum Many states do not allow people to ride in a towed vehicle, some do. Mostly in a fifth-wheel travel trailer with some provisions. Communication with the driver, seat belts and open access to the exit door but nothing said about pets… AAA Driving Laws - Riding In Trailers AAA has listed the states and the laws/rules for riding in a towed travel trailer, for people. We are unable to find any rules pertaining to pets. If you have ever seen a travel trailer that was involved in a crash you will probably agree with us. Sure they get dented and scratched up but at highway speeds a trailer splinters and disintegrates with so much debris flying everywhere. That's not to mention the belongings in the RV. Dishes, Drawers, books, tables/chairs and on and on. We believe that our pets (RV Pets) our members of the family and thank goodness we know that many of you RVers feel the same. Camping World Says NO Even our friends at Camping World have an article about this subject of riding in a towed trailer for people, nothing said about pets. A quote from that article says: "Even if something is legal doesn’t mean it’s safe or smart to do".
